Imran Khan’s Cousin Qasim Zaman Taken Into Police Custody

ISLAMABAD: Qasim Zaman, cousin of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan, has reportedly been taken into police custody outside Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi.

According to reports, Qasim Zaman had arrived at Adiala Jail on the designated day for family meetings to meet Imran Khan. Police reportedly took him into custody at the Factory Naka and shifted him to a nearby police post.

Following the incident, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan began efforts to secure Qasim Zaman’s immediate release and contacted senior officials to resolve the matter.

Reacting strongly to the reported detention, Barrister Gohar said he had received information that Qasim Zaman had been “picked up.”

He said Qasim Zaman was a completely non-political person who had never held a press conference or spoken to the media.

“Taking such a non-political and peaceful person into custody in this manner is extremely regrettable. For God’s sake, this practice of picking people up should now be stopped,” Barrister Gohar said.

The PTI chairman called for Qasim Zaman’s immediate release and urged the authorities to resolve the matter.
