We Were Told Emergency Would Be Imposed in 5 Districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Within the Next 72 Hours: Salman Akram Raja
Islamabad (Qudrat Daily) — Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Secretary General and prominent lawyer Salman Akram Raja, while explaining the reasons for the failure of negotiations, has made sensational revelations. Speaking on a Geo News program, Salman Akram Raja said that during the negotiations, PTI was in fact being asked to take responsibility itself for the drone strikes taking place in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa or the displacement of people, and to impose an emergency in 5 districts of the province within the next 72 hours and take military action.
He said that it was by no means the case that Chief Minister Sohail Afridi’s opinion differed from the party’s; rather, the entire leadership was on one page. The government’s hypocritical policy was that it wanted the imposition of emergency within 72 hours to be written into the English draft while removing it from the Urdu draft, which was a blatant betrayal of the people, and PTI could not accept this despicable deception.

Regarding the matter of meeting Imran Khan, Salman Akram Raja said that the government was not even prepared to discuss the demand for a meeting with the PTI founder. At 2:40 a.m., we were clearly told that a meeting with Imran Khan would not be arranged, and that on Tuesday, as per schedule, only non-political people could be allowed to meet him. After that, there remained no moral or political justification for continuing the negotiations. The government later fabricated the narrative of terrorism only to justify itself.
Speaking on matters related to security policy, Salman Akram Raja said that the Police Act could have been reviewed and there was no harm in implementing the National Action Plan either, but when you carry out drone strikes or military operations of this nature to implement it, which displace our innocent people, then consensus can never be reached on this, and our party stands like a wall of lead against these tyrannical actions.
