I Do Not See Governor’s Rule or Emergency Being Imposed; Rather, It Appears to Be Propaganda and a Threat: Sheikh Waqas Akram

Islamabad (Qudrat Daily) — Central Secretary Information of PTI, Sheikh Waqas Akram, has said that I do not see governor’s rule or emergency being imposed; rather, it appears to be propaganda and a threat. Earlier too, there was talk of banning the party. There is no talk under consideration of dissolving the provincial assembly. The party is united. Who will bring a no-confidence motion?

Speaking on a program on Hum News, he said that so far there is no indication that the long march will be postponed and a move toward negotiations with the government will be made. Barrister Gohar and the Chief Minister have already said that the protest will take place in any case. Instead of creating obstacles, the government should show tolerance; the opposition has to be tolerated.

The head of the street movement is Sohail Afridi, and he is clear on this. So far, I do not see any talks taking place.

Sheikh Waqas Akram said that I do not know what will happen the day after tomorrow, but as of today, emergency appears to me to be propaganda and a threat. Earlier too, many things, including banning the party, were said. I do not see governor’s rule or emergency being imposed.

Central Secretary Information PTI Sheikh Waqas Akram said that Shaukat Yousafzai has the right to give his opinion and express his reservations; those who criticized him have said something inappropriate. PTI is a major political party; everyone has the right to express an opinion.

Sheikh Waqas Akram said that regarding the talk of dissolving the provincial assembly, there was discussion in the PTI party group. Barrister Gohar also spoke with the Chief Minister, and it was made clear that no such matter is under consideration.

Similarly, as far as the no-confidence motion is concerned, who will bring it? Because so far the party is united. There is no defection. As for the talk of no-confidence, who will bring no-confidence? And against whom? PTI is currently united; I have not seen any defection anywhere. I have not seen any MPA leaving. Then who will bring no-confidence?

What Junaid Akbar has said — that if not Sohail Afridi, then no one — he has tried to give a message of unity, that if you remove one of our men, then we are all one. Because when federal ministers threaten governor’s rule or emergency in the province, then as provincial president, Junaid Akbar will also give a similar message.
