Trump Says AI Industry Can Regulate Itself, Releases Agreement With Tech Executives
Washington:US President Donald Trump has said that the artificial intelligence industry can oversee and regulate itself, while releasing a document agreed upon with leading AI executives.
Trump described the document as a form of protection and said AI leaders understand the importance of maintaining the United States’ significant advantage in the field of artificial intelligence.
In a statement, Trump said the United States has a major lead in AI and wants to maintain that position.
The US president said he had signed a document on artificial intelligence with technology executives. The document was signed by the heads of Google, Anthropic, Meta, OpenAI, xAI and NVIDIA.
Trump also said his administration was considering establishing a committee to oversee the AI sector.
According to Trump, discussions were also held with technology leaders about potential locations for new data centers. He said communities where data centers are built could receive significant financial benefits from the projects.
