Azerbaijani Woman Records Statement in Lahore Assault Case

Lahore:An Azerbaijani woman has recorded her statement before a court in connection with an alleged gang-rape case in an upscale area of Lahore, detailing the circumstances surrounding the incident.

According to Dunya News, the woman, identified as Diana, recorded her statement under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

Diana told the court that she arrived in Islamabad from Istanbul on September 13 and stayed in Faisalabad for five days before traveling to Lahore. She said she had planned to visit Skardu but contacted acquaintances Nimra and Muskan to meet her in Lahore because she was traveling alone.

According to her statement, Muskan met her at a café around 11pm. At approximately 2am, two men, identified as Mohsin and Ahmed, arrived in a white car, after which they went to an apartment in Bahria Town.

Diana alleged that a man identified as Ali Zain later arrived at the apartment with another associate. She said Nimra and Muskan received Rs20,000 to Rs30,000 from Mohsin and told her that the money was for the party.

She said she told them she did not need money or alcohol, after which Mohsin allegedly attempted to touch her forcibly and locked her in a room.

According to Diana, when she asked about her friends, she was told that Nimra and Muskan had left after receiving money and that she would not be allowed to leave. She said she offered to return Rs30,000, but the men allegedly forced her to consume alcohol.

Diana alleged that Mohsin, Ahmed and Ali Zain subsequently sexually assaulted her.

She further stated that after the alleged assault, the men took her in a car. She said her bag contained Rs200,000 in cash, an iPhone 13 Pro Max and a Redmi phone, which the suspects allegedly refused to return.

According to her statement, the men told her not to report the matter to police. When she said she would inform the police, Ahmed and Ali Zain allegedly threatened her and pushed her out of the moving vehicle after opening its door.

Diana said local residents came to her assistance and called the police emergency helpline 15, following which police arrived at the scene.

The allegations remain subject to the ongoing legal proceedings and investigation.
