Islamabad:Seven militants were killed in separate security operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, according to security sources.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bara area, security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in which five militants affiliated with the group referred to by Pakistani authorities as Fitna al-Khawarij were killed.

A large quantity of weapons and ammunition was also recovered from the militants, while their hideouts were completely destroyed, according to the sources.

Meanwhile, two militants were killed during a security operation in the Naukcha area of Chagai district in Balochistan.

According to security sources, the militants attempted to flee after setting fire to an empty water bowser in Naukcha. The sources said the militants were also allegedly involved in arson attacks at various locations along the N-40 highway.

The sources further claimed that 11 militants affiliated with Fitna al-Hindustan were killed on August 31 in similar acts of sabotage.

Security forces said they remain committed to eliminating terrorism from the country and establishing lasting peace. Operations against militants in Balochistan, the sources said, will continue until the last terrorist is eliminated.
