“There Is a Risk of Severe Anarchy Spreading in Balochistan; Political Parties Should Establish a Strong Front on Common Points”: Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch

QUETTA (Daily Qudrat) — National Party central president Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch, addressing the second day’s session of the central committee meeting, said that the National Party’s politics is determined by democratic requirements — to consciously connect the people and to struggle for their basic rights.

The former Chief Minister said that the National Party considers the people the source of power and regards the rule of the Constitution and law as the guarantor of the common citizen’s life, freedom and basic rights. He said that Balochistan’s national highways are not safe for travel, and the movement of the people has been restricted. The transport and agriculture-related classes are suffering severe difficulties; on one hand, vehicles are set on fire, and on the other, transporters have been subjected to severe economic difficulties through extortion at check posts.

He said that the policy of cutting orchards and displacing people from areas in Khadkocha, Kalat and Nushki is an anti-people measure. He said that the National Party believes in argument and logic, and Balochistan needs seriousness, because at this time the people are suffering hardships. There is a risk of severe anarchy spreading, which could give rise to a serious kind of human tragedy. Therefore, dialogue should be given priority.

The National Party chief said that Balochistan is an important part of the region in terms of geopolitics, therefore it is not possible to deny regional movements and intervention. He said that the National Party’s effort is to bring Balochistan’s political parties together on common points so that a strong political front can be established.

The former Chief Minister said that the party should prioritise discipline to organise the fraternal organisation and, continuing the process of organisation, devise a public contact strategy to connect the people with the National Party platform.
