NCCIA Registers PECA Case Against PTI MNA Junaid Akbar Khan

Islamabad: The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has registered a case under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter president Junaid Akbar Khan.

According to the FIR, registered as Case No. 152/2026 at the NCCIA Cyber Crime Reporting Centre on behalf of the state, the case relates to an allegedly threatening statement made by Junaid Akbar in a video.

The FIR states that the PTI leader allegedly spoke about turning Islamabad into “Somnath,” and claims that the statement created fear and a threat to public safety.

The case has been registered under Sections 9, 10 and 11 of PECA. According to the FIR, Junaid Akbar is also accused of allegedly spreading anti-state content and a narrative through his official TikTok account.

The FIR further states that the alleged content was shared through Junaid Akbar’s official TikTok account, which has approximately 339,500 followers.

The allegations are contained in the FIR and have not been established as fact by a court.
