Financial Irregularities and Corruption at Bolan Medical University: Investigation Enters Final Stages

Officials of Planning and Development Department Violated Rules and Regulations; Matter Referred to Anti-Corruption: Vice Chancellor Professor Shabbir Lehri

Quetta (Daily Qudrat Quetta), September 10: The investigation into large-scale financial irregularities, non-transparent expenditures, and violations of rules and regulations at Balochistan’s Bolan University of Medical College and Health Sciences Quetta has entered its final stages. Anti-Corruption Department authorities say that a case will be registered after the investigation is completed.

According to the Anti-Corruption Department, the investigation was initiated after financial irregularities in construction works at Bolan University of Medical College and Health Sciences Quetta, the appointment of contract employees on deputation, and other matters involving non-transparent expenditures and violations of rules and regulations came to light. The investigation is now in its final stages, and a case will be registered after it is completed.

When contacted in this regard, Vice Chancellor of Bolan University of Medical College and Health Sciences Quetta, Professor Dr. Shabbir Lehri, said that after the alleged irregularities at the university came to light, he himself referred the matter to Anti-Corruption. Officials of the university’s Planning and Development Department committed the irregularities, which are being investigated by the Anti-Corruption Department.
