May 9 Cases: Court Orders Seizure and Blacklisting of Meena Khan Afridi’s Passport
ISLAMABAD: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Islamabad has ordered the seizure of the passport of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial minister Meena Khan Afridi and directed authorities to place his name on the blacklist in connection with cases related to the May 9 incidents.
During the hearing, the court took strict notice of the provincial minister’s repeated absence and failure to appear before the court. The court observed that Meena Khan Afridi had allegedly been deliberately avoiding the judicial proceedings and had remained absent despite being required to appear.
The ATC also issued non-bailable arrest warrants for the provincial minister over his continued non-appearance and directed the relevant authorities to expedite legal proceedings in the May 9 cases.

The court ordered the concerned institutions to initiate immediate proceedings for the seizure of Meena Khan Afridi’s passport and directed that his name be placed on the blacklist to prevent him from leaving the country.
Meena Khan Afridi is wanted by Islamabad Police in cases registered in connection with the violent incidents of May 9, including allegations related to violence, arson and disruption of law and order.
