Trump Predicts Sharp Drop in Oil and Gas Prices After US Victory Over Iran

WASHINGTON:US President Donald Trump has claimed that oil and gasoline prices will fall sharply after the United States achieves victory in its war with Iran.
In a post on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump said oil prices would decline “very rapidly” once the war was won. He predicted that gasoline prices for American consumers could fall to around **$3 per gallon**, and eventually drop below **$2 per gallon**.
The US president also said Iran would not be able to acquire nuclear weapons in the future.
Trump’s remarks came as global oil markets remained under pressure amid the conflict with Iran and heightened tensions in the Strait of Hormuz. International oil prices have risen during the recent escalation, while concerns over potential disruptions to global supplies remain.
According to the *Financial Times*, Brent crude prices have recently approached **$98 per barrel**.
Trump said the situation would return to normal rapidly after the war ended. However, his prediction that gasoline prices could eventually fall below $2 per gallon is a political claim, with its realization depending on global oil supplies, the conclusion of the conflict and broader market conditions.
