PTI’s Sher Afzal Marwat Says Movements Run on Sacrifice, Not Donations; Claims He Funded Nearly 80 Rallies Himself
Islamabad: PTI leader Sher Afzal Khan Marwat has said that political movements are not run on donations but on struggle and sacrifice, claiming he never collected funds from workers for rallies and personally bore the expenses of nearly 80 gatherings after May 9.
In a statement on X, Marwat said Imran Khan had given him a ticket and that he remains Khan’s member and stands with him.
He said that after May 9 he organised nearly 80 public meetings, processions and conventions across the country. At each event, he claimed, eight to nine of his own vehicles were used and he paid all expenses himself. He added that his house was demolished and he suffered heavy losses, but no one offered even a single rupee in help.
Marwat expressed regret that instead of support, allegations and slander were levelled against him. He said he did all this not for personal gain but for his ideology and for Imran Khan.

He further said that after May 9, about 70 to 80 public meetings, processions, rallies and conventions were held across the country, with hundreds of thousands of people taking part. According to him, the party did not give workers funds for any of these events. Even then, he said, workers came on their own out of love for Imran Khan and his ideology, bringing their own flags, vehicles and food, and paying all expenses from their own pockets.
Marwat said the movement is not dependent on donations and remains alive through the public’s own struggle, sacrifice and hard work.
