Momina Iqbal Claims She Was Offered Reconciliation in Harassment Case Against PML-N MPA Saqib Chadhar
LAHORE: Well-known actress Momina Iqbal has claimed that she was offered reconciliation in a harassment case involving Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Punjab Assembly member Saqib Chadhar.
Speaking to the media outside a sessions court in Lahore, Momina Iqbal said she had placed her trust in the law and initially remained silent, but alleged that the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) changed the investigation without informing her, in what she described as collusion.
She said her demand from the first day had been that the person accused of the alleged offence should be suspended. According to the actress, it was unacceptable in a democracy for an elected representative facing serious allegations to continue holding office.
Momina Iqbal said she had received offers to settle the matter and was told that she was now married and should “sit back and remain quiet.” However, she said she would pursue the case to its logical conclusion.

The actress announced that she would make the evidence public on social media if she failed to receive justice through the legal system. She said the public could then decide the matter, adding that she would not back down and intended to pursue the case at every available forum.
Momina Iqbal also said she was representing the voice of women across Pakistan and would continue pursuing the case against Saqib Chadhar.
The actress’s lawyer also strongly objected to the sudden change in the investigation. He told the media that the investigation had been changed without their knowledge, despite the fact that they had not submitted any such request.
The lawyer said that at the previous hearing, an NCCIA officer had told the court that the agency required Saqib Chadhar to be arrested. He said the sudden change in the agency’s position was surprising.
He added that they were challenging the NCCIA report before the Lahore High Court.
