Sindh Will Not Be Divided as Long as Even One PPP Member Is Alive: Murad Ali Shah

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has warned those seeking to divide the province to abandon what he described as a misconception, saying Sindh would not be divided as long as even a single Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) member remained alive.

Addressing the Sindh Assembly, Murad Ali Shah said Sindh had existed for centuries and recalled that the British had attempted to divide the province, but the people of Sindh played a role in the creation of Pakistan.

He said the Pakistan Resolution was also passed by the same assembly and urged those advocating the division of Sindh to abandon the idea.

PPP leader Nisar Khuhro also strongly opposed any move to divide the province. He referred to the situation in Balochistan and questioned whether those calling for Sindh’s division wanted the province to face similar instability and unrest.

Khuhro asked what would be gained by dividing Sindh and whether such a move would push its people into chaos and disorder.

He also questioned the fate of previous political resolutions and initiatives, arguing that those who had once considered supporting such measures should reflect on their consequences.

Both leaders reiterated their opposition to any attempt to divide Sindh and emphasized the importance of preserving the province’s unity.
