$3.5 Billion Falcon Isles Refinery Project Clears Key Institutional Hurdle in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD:The proposed $3.5 billion Falcon Isles Refinery and Storage Complex in Pakistan has cleared a key institutional milestone, paving the way for further consideration of the major investment project.
The project, planned for Dhabeji in Thatta district, has been endorsed by the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Secretariat, which has formally asked the Board of Investment (BOI) to place the project before the Joint Working Group on Industrial Cooperation.
The development could become one of the largest private-sector industrial investments in Pakistan in recent years and is being viewed as a significant step toward attracting private investment into the country’s petroleum and energy infrastructure.
The proposed refinery and storage complex is expected to strengthen Pakistan’s energy infrastructure while creating opportunities for industrial cooperation and investment under the CPEC framework.
The project’s referral to the relevant Joint Working Group marks an important institutional step, with further consideration and approvals expected as the proposal moves through the required process.
