Field Marshal Asim Munir Visits Defence Industrial Complex at POF Wah

RAWALPINDI:Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited the Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) Wah, where he reviewed the country’s defence production capabilities and witnessed tests and trials of locally designed and manufactured weapons and ammunition.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Asim Munir was briefed on various activities of POF and its role in strengthening Pakistan’s national defence and indigenous defence industrial base.
The visit included a detailed review of POF’s production capabilities, export potential and its contribution to strengthening the country’s defence industrial foundation. The Field Marshal was also informed about the local development and manufacturing of different types of military equipment.
During the visit, Field Marshal Asim Munir witnessed the testing and trials of weapons and ammunition designed and manufactured locally.
He was further briefed on progress regarding the transformation of POF into a corporate entity, as well as ongoing efforts related to indigenous manufacturing and the upgrading of defence production capabilities.
According to ISPR, two new industrial plants are currently being installed, with production expected to begin by the end of this year.
The military’s media wing said Field Marshal Asim Munir reaffirmed the Pakistan Army’s commitment to promoting self-reliance, indigenous production and technological innovation in the country’s defence sector.
The visit underscored Pakistan’s continued focus on strengthening its domestic defence industry, enhancing local manufacturing capabilities and expanding the potential for defence exports.
