Efforts Underway to Keep Imran Khan in Jail for a Long Time, Says Son Qasim Khan

ISLAMABAD: Qasim Khan, son of PTI founder Imran Khan, has alleged that efforts are being made to keep his father in prison for as long as possible, with the ultimate aim of silencing his voice.
Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, Qasim said that when Imran Khan was first imprisoned, the family expected him to be released after some time and believed that the situation in Pakistan would eventually change.
However, he said that as time passed, the matter continued to drag on, leaving the family increasingly helpless.
Qasim recalled that his father had become accustomed to unusual and dangerous incidents throughout his life. He said Imran Khan had previously fallen from elevated platforms and faced several assassination attempts.

For this reason, Qasim said, the family initially believed that his father’s imprisonment would also be temporary and that the situation in Pakistan would change, as had happened in the past.
According to Qasim, as the imprisonment continued for a longer period, the family increasingly felt powerless. He said that when media coverage of Imran Khan had also largely diminished while he remained behind bars, he began thinking that if he could make a difference in any way, it might be time to take action.
Qasim said it now appeared that the strategy behind keeping his father in prison was no longer being concealed.
He alleged that there was an open attempt to keep Imran Khan in jail for as long as possible and possibly “finish him” there.
According to Qasim, the objective was to prolong his father’s imprisonment and ultimately silence his voice.
