He proposed:
Ending the military’s political involvement.
Ending politicians’ reliance on the military to serve their political interests.
A new Charter of Democracy among all political parties.
Restoring the independence of the judiciary.
Transferring resources and powers to local governments at the grassroots level.
Meanwhile, Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) President Abdul Aleem Khan has called for the creation of new provinces, saying it is essential for Pakistan’s progress and for providing relief to citizens.
Party leaders recently met Abdul Aleem Khan, during which the party decided to adopt a concrete strategy at the party level regarding the creation of new provinces.
Speaking during the meeting, Aleem Khan said the establishment of new provinces was inevitable if Pakistan was to move forward. He stressed that Pakistan was more important than personal interests and political considerations.
He said providing relief to the people would not be possible without creating new provinces and administrative units.
“Whether people like it or not, new provinces will have to be created,” Aleem Khan said, adding that those willing to support the objective would remain with the party, while those unwilling to do so would have to leave.
He said the IPP fully supported the creation of a Hazara province as well as a Bahawalpur province. He also called for the establishment of a Saraiki province, along with administrative units in Multan and other areas.
