Fawad took bribes in exchange of favourable verdicts by his uncle-judge: PTI leader

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Hamid Khan on Sunday seconded the claim that Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry used to take bribes from people for favourable verdicts by former Lahore High Court chief justice, who is also his uncle. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Rana Sanaullah earlier this week made the claim. Moreover, Hamid had authored a book in which he had said that a nephew of the judge, Justice (retd) Iftikhar Hussain, used to accept money from people wanting a favourable decision. After Sanaullah’s claim, Hamid confirmed that the nephew in question was Fawad. He further said that there was rampant corruption in LHC during Justice (retd) Hussain’s time. Justice (retd) Hussain served as LHC chief justice from September 7, 2002 to December 31, 2007. Reacting to Hamid Khan's allegations, Fawad Chaudhry said he could not "throw stones at every barking dog."
