Karachi: Former Sri Lankan captain Kumar Sangakkara has paid tribute to former Pakistan women’s team captain Sana Mir for her “Trailblazing career”.
The legendary batsman took to Twitter on Wednesday and acknowledged her for being an inspiration to youngsters all over the world.
“Well done on a trailblazing career, you have inspired so many young cricketers – both boys and girls in Pakistan and the world over. Best wishes for an amazing future,” Sangakkara tweeted.
“Thank you so much, Sir. It is an honour to recieve affirmation from you. Thank you for being a great role model for all of us and your encouragement,” The 34-year-old replied.
It must be noted that Sana announced retirement on April 25th from international cricket after representing the home country in 120 ODIs and 106 T20Is from 2009 to 2017.
