BUNER: The Buner district council unanimously approved the Rs4.44 billion budget for the fiscal 2019-20 on Monday.
Of the total outlay, Rs633 million have been earmarked for development schemes. The budget was presented on Saturday by district nazim Dr Obaidullah.
During the budget debate district council members suggested a number of proposals which led to an increase in funds for agriculture and rural development.
Talking to mediapersons, the district nazim flanked by naib nazim and the opposition leader, said all members of the council were given due share in funds every year. Major portion of development fund, he added, was allocated for health, education and tourism development.
He asked all the member of the council to submit their schemes immediately so that work on them could be initiated without delay.
Besides, he said council members must keep a check on the schemes to ensure quality work.
District finance officer Javid Khan and rural development department assistant director Amanullah Khan were also present.
