QUETTA: DAILY QURDRAT :While presenting provincial budget 2019-20, Finance Minister Zahoor Buledi has announced rupees 30 million for establishing a Media Academy in Balochistan named after veteran journalist Late. Siddique Baloch.
Zahoor Buledi added, Government has decided to introduce a policy with consensus of concerned stakeholders for Journalist Welfare and Hawker Welfare Funds while plans being reviewed to digitalize Public Relations Department announced rupees 595 million for DGPR.
During budget speech, Finance Minister has said, Government of Balochistan has allocated rupees 30 million rupees for Sddique Baloch Media Academy.
Siddiq, 78, was a renowned journalist, senior political economist and democrat. He was the chief editor of Daily Azadi Quetta and Balochistan Express, an English newspaper.
Siddiq played an important role in Baloch nationalist politics. In 2002, he authored a book, ‘A critical comment on political economy of Balochistan’. He was the only journalist who conferred the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz.
