GHALANAI: About 51 candidates, including two former senators, have filed nomination papers for the two provincial assembly seats of PK-103 Mohmand-I and PK-104 Mohmand-II. The elections are scheduled to be held on July 2. Former senator Hafiz Rasheed Ahmad of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl filed his nomination for PK-103 while former senator Abdur Rehman Faqir and his son Noman Faqir have filed their papers for PK-104 seat of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly. Two local journalists, including Lower Mohmand press club president Mehboob Sher and Tafseer Khan, also filed their nomination papers for PK-103 and PK-104, respectively. The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf has filed at least 11 nomination papers for PK-104 and three for PK-103. Moreover, four candidates of PPP and three candidates each of PML-N, JI, JUI-F and ANP are in the run for the two seats. Some independent candidates, included Senator Hilal Rehman and his brother former MNA Bilal Rehman, have also filed nomination papers for both the constituencies. FOOD PACAKAGE: Pakistan Red Crescent Society, Mohmand chapter, with the support of Kuwait Red Crescent Society distributed food packages among the deserving families here the other day. PRCS local programme officer Irfanullah along with volunteers participated in the distribution ceremony held at the society’s office in Ekkaghund. Mr Irfanullah said that they had prepared the list of deserving families for the food packages. He said that food packages were distributed in Ekkaghund, Prang Ghar, Pandiali, Ambar and other areas.
